JOB DESCRIPTION

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Dispatch Assistant based out of the Dartmouth Terminal. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a "Can Do" attitude.

Responsibilities

• Dispatching drivers
• Managing driver productivity
• Data entry to comply with company KPI's
• Scanning of paperwork
• Assisting team with reception, pick-up calls, customer service inquiries
• Filling in/assisting Dispatch Supervisor as required

Qualifications

• Education Required: Trade Certification or Associate's Degree
• Years of Experience Required: 2-5 years of dispatch experience in a transportation environment
• Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Solid interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure and time constraints in a busy environment
• FACTS knowledge an asset
