Director Of Engineering And Operations

Grimsby Power is located in the Town of Grimsby, on the western edge of the Region of Niagara. Grimsby Power serves over 12,000 customers and is committed to providing the Town of Grimsby with an economical, safe and reliable supply of energy.

Grimsby Power is looking for a Director of Engineering and Operations who will be responsible for the planning, operations and ongoing management of the Grimsby Power Distribution system and Niagara West Transformer Station.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the electricity distribution industry.
  • Expert knowledge of electric utility design & construction methods, Distribution System Code, utility work protection code, OHSA, and EUSA Rule Book.
  • Familiarity with Transmission Station construction, technologies, and operation management.
  • Thorough understanding of modern asset management techniques, maintenance principles, and prioritization of capital investments to manage risk in a regulated environment.
  • Detail oriented and ability to develop, implement, and control plans and budgets effectively.
  • Ability to analyze processes and articulate recommendations for improvements.
Education, Licenses or Special Requirements
  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.)
  • Post or continuing educational courses in Management Studies and/or Business Management
  • Valid Class G drivers licence with a clean abstract.
