Job description

7+ years | Montreal

Our client is a well-established private real estate company operating in Canada’s major urban centers. Known for the quality of its assets and its entrepreneurial approach, the company develops and manages a diversified portfolio that includes large-scale residential projects, as well as mixed-use, industrial, hotel, and commercial properties.

To support its growth, the company is looking to add a Director of Legal Affairs.

Reporting to senior management, the Director will play a key role across all organizational activities. You will work extensively on transactional real estate matters, including property acquisitions and dispositions, as well as real estate project development. You will also participate in certain financings and act as the primary legal lead on corporate and business law matters, including the management and maintenance of a group of companies and partnerships, contract negotiation and management, insurance portfolios, and other related matters. The role involves close collaboration with the finance and operations teams, as well as with leading external law firms.

We are looking for an independent and meticulous lawyer with significant experience in real estate and business law, capable of thriving in a dynamic, decision-driven environment. This position is ideal for a professional who wants to be at the centre of projects and maintain close interactions with senior management. The work environment offers several attractive features: a strategic and versatile role, direct involvement in business decisions, and more.
