We are seeking an experienced Director, Engineering for our Engineered Solutions business.
Essential Responsibilities
- Apply strong technical and customer requirements knowledge in technology to develop and drive product strategy.
- Accountable for engineering execution on programs within and across the business unit (cost, schedule, technical).
- Responsible for technical issue resolution, ensures root cause is identified and / or risk is adequately bound.
- Responsible for program design change approval and ensures technical readiness for design reviews.
- Communicate and influence leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the function or business area; frequently conducts briefings to senior leaders.
- Support new business pursuits and proposal activities.
- Review program risks / opportunities and identify opportunities for engineering improvements (people, process, and tools).
- Ensure engineering initiatives are adopted, processes & procedures are continuously improved and followed.
- Act as engineering lead for program accomplishments, issues, highlights, monthly status.
- Grow and maintain engineering staff and maintain low attrition through employee engagement, transparency, and an ability to continuously adapt to evolving environments.
- Own and develop tactical and operational plans and goals for the engineering team.
- Recommend and implement new products, processes, policies, standards, or operating plans in support of business strategy.
- Provide oversight and guidance to the effective flow of technical information in our Licensing business. Build relationships with License OEM clients and third-party technical data retrieval partners.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of systems engineering principles and product development lifecycle.
- Previous DoD, aerospace and project management experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal communication and management skills.
- Desire, energy and capability to solve a broad range of engineering challenges as part of daily activities.
- Ability to work with customers, clients and supply chain partners.
- Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous workloads effectively, including adapting to changes, planning, organizing, and prioritizing work.
- Ability to lead a small but multi-disciplined engineering team to achieve superior results.
- Limited travel required in support of major project and client activity / milestones.
- Understanding of US ITAR regulations.
Work Experience / Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
- Ten+ years of professional industry related experience.
- MilSpec, AS9100 and aerospace industry experience.
- Military service or related experience preferred.
- US Citizenship required.
