Reporting to the Managing Director, Operations, Valuation & Oversight, CIBC Asset Management, the incumbent is accountable for supporting the business operations (and operational excellence) of the asset management business on a day to day basis. This includes a number of teams and functions that support Mutual Funds, ETFs, Alternatives and institutional business of GAM and the internal investment management functions and activities within GAM. This role would support the implementation of significant business initiatives and process changes, which will often involve the integration and adoption of new technology and systems to establish optimal processes so that the asset management business operates efficiently and effectively.

The expected annualized base salary range for this $111,060 to $152,710.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

Business Analysis - Provide support across fund operations, fund valuation and oversight to improve efficiency in these departments. Lead initiatives to optimize and automate processes, with a strong focus on error prevention, data integrity, and continuous improvement. Enhance investment fund operational processes, including account/product setup, counterparty onboarding, and trade lifecycle management, through process improvement, automation, and technology adoption. Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide operational frameworks, ensuring robust controls and proactive risk mitigation across the GAM business functions. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovation, accountability, and operational excellence across teams.
Collaboration - Serve as a subject matter expert on operational expense (Opex) management, continuously analyzing cost structures and implementing efficiencies to ensure the delivery of competitive, value-driven solutions for clients. Serve as a senior point of contact for institutional clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders regarding operational matters, onboarding, and service delivery. Identify and analyze emerging industry trends, regulatory changes, market developments, and evolving client needs to proactively inform operational strategy, drive innovation, and maintain competitive advantage for CIBC Asset Management. Collaborate with infrastructure and technology partners to identify and implement AI-driven solutions that deliver operational excellence and competitive advantage. Participate in adhoc projects to support the growth of the GAM business. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with external partners, and industry stakeholders to support strategic objectives. Serve as a senior advisor on complex operational and valuation challenges, supporting business growth and client needs.
Support the design and execution of strategic plans for fund platform consolidation, product launches, fund mergers, and other key business initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination among internal and external stakeholders. Foster cross-functional collaboration with technology, back office operations, legal, governance & controls teams to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives, robust risk management, and alignment with organizational objectives. Assist in the oversight and continuous improvement of internal policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with business activities, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Oversee third-party service provider relationships, including custodians, fund administrators, middle/back office outsourcers, and fintech partners to support due diligence, contract negotiations, and ongoing performance reviews to ensure service quality, operational risk mitigation, and cost effectiveness.
You have an undersgraduate degree in business, math, accounting or economics
You can demonstrate your experience. Broad and deep knowledge of investment management practices, processes, operational activities and systems across asset classes. Knowledge of financial services regulatory environment, client business practices and requirements, accounting principles, risk management principles and practices, sufficient to interpret and apply issues and developments to the benefit of CIBC. Experience in strategic planning and project management to improve operational effectiveness. Well-developed ability to prepare effective communications.
