Overview

The not-for-profit Chrysalis Charitable Foundation is recruitingnew Board Directors from the Edmonton and Calgary regions. The Foundation raises funds and builds support for the work of Chrysalis, An Alberta Society for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities. This unique organization provides an array of services to facilitate and support the dreams and desires of each individual in any area of interest, including, employment, personal development, recreation, arts, and volunteerism.

Board composition and opportunity

The volunteer Chrysalis Foundation Board of Directors consists of individuals representing diverse backgrounds and interests, including fund development, business, industry, labour, legal, financial, communications, marketing, healthcare, education and parents/guardians of persons in service with Chrysalis, among others. The Board is currently seeking a Director(s) with financial/accounting backgrounds. The role of the Board of Directors is to:

  • Provide the Foundation strategic direction and oversight
  • Plan and implement specific fund-raising activities
  • Raise the profile and understanding of the work done by Chrysalis in support of persons with disabilities and the challenges faced by the organization
  • Advocate on behalf of Chrysalis and Albertans with disabilities
