About the role
The Restaurant General Manager oversees all aspects of the Marcus restaurant, bar, and lounge operations. He/She is responsible for ensuring smooth operations while maintaining compliance with Four Seasons standards. In addition, the General Manager must demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills while ensuring the satisfaction of both guests and team members under their supervision.
What you will do
- Supervise the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and lounge while ensuring service excellence aligned with Four Seasons standards.
- Maintain strong floor presence, build relationships with regular guests, and welcome new clientele.
- Handle guest complaints with professionalism, guiding the team toward a service-first mindset.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and key leaders (operations, sommelier, culinary) to design unique menus, wine programs, and guest experiences.
- Uphold the identity of Marcus as an independent and innovative F&B concept.
- Define and implement the restaurant’s long-term strategy in line with brand positioning.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives and promotions to increase visibility and drive revenue growth.
- Monitor labor, inventory, and purchasing costs, implementing creative solutions to optimize profitability.
- Oversee planning and execution of reservations, special events, and peak service periods.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets in collaboration with Finance and the General Management team.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate managers and employees while fostering a culture of mentorship and growth.
- Build a collaborative, motivating, and open work environment that encourages learning and teamwork.
- Maintain clear communication with the team and ensure effective coordination with other hotel departments.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, financial, and credit standards.
- Represent Marcus as the face of the concept, embodying creativity, innovation, and world-class service
What you bring
- Communicate fluently in French, both spoken and written.
- An advanced level of English is required to ensure oral and written communication with business partners, stakeholders, suppliers, and a predominantly international clientele.
- Demonstrate excellent stress management skills and strong adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Show creativity, initiative, and strong team spirit.
- Demonstrate interest and ability in delivering outstanding service to internal clients, external clients, and suppliers.
- Maintain excellent presentation, clear communication skills in both French and English, and strong interpersonal abilities to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct oneself with maturity and integrity at all times.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Highly organized, meticulous, and resourceful.
- Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Lotus Notes, Micros, and OpenTable.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in restaurant management or a related field.
- Post-secondary degree in Hospitality or Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
