Parkwood Institute – Mental Health, London, ON

Position Details

Part‑time. Salary: $27.66 – $27.86 per hour. Shift hours from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.

Position Overview

We are an integrated team that provides food and nutrition services to our patients and residents at all sites of St. Joseph's Health Care London. Our vision is to provide nutritional care that nourishes patients and residents, body, mind and spirit. We support our patients, community and the planet driven by our menu components that include the patient voice, clinical requirements, budget, operations and sustainability. This is achieved through increased local purchasing, growing fresh vegetables on site seasonally, composting and reducing food waste.

Essential Qualifications
  • Secondary (High) School Diploma
  • Safe Food Handlers certification or successful completion of certification within six (6) months of hire
  • Knowledge of institutional food service and therapeutic diets
  • Knowledge of safe food handling
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • Health and physical condition consistent with constant bending, standing, walking, or lifting up to 28 kg.
  • Strong customer service commitment
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as a team player
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Previous food service experience
Teaching and Research

As an employee of St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College, you will be expected to engage in role‑related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties.

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing.
