Responsibilities: Design, build and support cloud environments to create digital products. Monitor and assess the performance of applications in a cloud environment to ensure solutions are available. Create, test and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and protect against unauthorized access.
General Skills: Experience in one of the leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Experience in maintaining complex Linux cloud environments (CentOS, Ubuntu, CoreOS) to support modern web technologies (LAMP, MEAN, Drupal, Elasticsearch). Experience setting up development environments using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Maven and Jenkins. Experience in scripting languages like Python, Bash, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node. Experience in build tools such as Git, Ansible, Chef, Puppet for continuous integration. Knowledge of Docker, building and using APIs, applying industry web, architectural and security standards and best practices. Experience in mobile device management for various versions of cellular and tablets.
This position is listed as Onsite; the resource is expected to work 7.25 hours per calendar day between standard working hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) every Monday to Friday inclusive at the identified Ontario Public Service (OPS) office location.
This role will support the design and implementation of the SUS platform on public cloud IaaS. The DevOps/Cloud Engineer will create and update service templates used for provisioning cloud resources and installing software required for running the business applications. The Engineer will also set up the DevSecOps pipeline for the build and deployment of ministry applications across various runtime environments. The role will set up, configure and maintain common platform components such as logging, auditing, monitoring, alerting and vulnerability detection.
The role will support the operations team in troubleshooting application issues related to the platform components.
