Job description
REPORTS TO:

Supervisor Development Engineering

LOCATION:

Initial placement – Paris Customer Service Office

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Three-year or four-year diploma in Civil Engineering or combination of equivalent education and work experience
  • One to two years of relevant work experience in both a rural and urban development environment
  • Dedicated to a high degree of professionalism and setting standards of excellence
  • Proven communication, report writing and public relations skills
  • Demonstrated project management, negotiation, organizational, analytical, supervisory and computer skills
  • Working knowledge of various provincial and federal legislation, ie, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Protection, Municipal Acts, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, independently and safely
  • Ability to travel between County offices and facilities as required.
Assets:
  • Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist designation
Duties:
  • Provide technical direction in regards to municipal engineering matters
  • Review, evaluate and provide advice regarding growth related applications
  • To assist in the peer review of Plans of Subdivisions and condominiums
  • Review of various development related applications (severances, consents, site plan control, etc.)
  • Evaluation of municipal servicing issues at various stages of development
  • Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of system capacities
  • Assist with the development of subdivision, development, servicing and cost sharing agreements with developers, builders and contractors
  • To liaise and negotiate with various government agencies, consultants, developers, the public and other departments providing advice regarding growth and development initiatives and inquiries
  • Facilitate the provision of exemplary customer service
  • Ensure new growth and development is consistent with the corporate goals and objectives of the municipality, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of all engineering related services
  • Other duties as assigned
Salary Range:

$85,176 - $99,645 (Job Grade 7) 35 hours per week
