Job vacancy - Design Engineer

Position : Design Engineer

Salary : Dependent on experience

This role sits within a technical design team focused on developing water-reclamation solutions for commercial buildings, including rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems. The Design Engineer will support the full design lifecycle—from feasibility studies through to detailed design and tender documentation—producing technical proposals, specifications, drawings and quotations. The position involves close collaboration with contractors, consultants and internal colleagues to ensure information is accurate, coordinated and delivered on time.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include updating CAD drawings, producing schematic and demarcation layouts, creating basic 3D coordination models, and contributing to written tender submissions. The role suits someone with an engineering background who understands the construction design process, enjoys working independently as well as part of a small team, and is comfortable managing deadlines. There is also scope to develop technical leadership on projects and help shape internal design standards and new concepts in water‑efficiency technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce feasibility designs, technical specifications and proposals for water-reclamation systems.
  • Deliver design work from early feasibility to detailed design and tender stages.
  • Prepare quotations for tender and design enquiries.
  • Support contract reviews and contribute to written tender submissions.
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to meet information and deadline requirements.
  • Create and update AutoCAD drawings and basic 3D models in Revit.
  • Develop and refine internal design procedures and guides.
  • Contribute to new design concepts and technology improvements.
