Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled IBM DataPower Developer to design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable integration solutions using IBM WebSphere DataPower Gateway. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in DataPower, XML technologies, API security, and integrations.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  • Assist in designing and implementing integration solutions using IBM DataPower Gateway under guidance from senior developers.
  • Support development and maintenance of XSLT transformations, XML schemas, and WSDLs.
  • Help configure secure gateways and learn about SSL/TLS, OAuth, and SAML.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving basic DataPower service issues.
  • Document configurations and processes for team reference.
  • Validate APIs using tools like SoapUI and Postman.
  • Collaborate with team members in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning).
  • Learn and contribute to CI/CD processes and version control using Git.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • 1–2 years of experience with IBM DataPower Gateway or similar integration technologies (internship or academic projects acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of XML, XSLT, JSON, and SOAP/REST protocols.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and secure communications is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or Knowledge of API security standards OAuth, SAML, JWT an asset).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps tools an asset.
  • Familiarity with middleware tools like MQ or WTX an asset.
