POSITION SUMMARY

Lead a critical initiative aimed at eliminating part identification inconsistencies, incorrect cross references, and outdated product information that result in lost sales opportunities and customer confusion. This role is responsible for cleaning, managing, and maintaining the integrity of parts data across systems - ensuring accuracy, standardization, and usability for both internal teams and customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Initial Data Clean‑Up
  • Audit and correct part naming conventions across multiple data sources.
  • Re-establish and validate product relationships, including obsolete parts, alternates, supersessions, kits, and subcomponents.
  • Standardize and validate cross‑reference data, including OEM and vendor cross references.
  • Review and clean manufacturing data, including BOM inconsistencies, sourcing notes, and production details.
  • Identify and remove redundant, outdated, or unreliable written notes that hinder searchability.
  • Ensure significant product data is displayed in e‑commerce platform for customer purchases through the ERP system.
  • Ensure all technical data
  • Review, revise, or remove attachments (customer documents, photos, PDFs, drawings) to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Reclassify parts into correct Category/Set/Class structures to improve catalog consistency ensuring new structure is communicated to Pricing Dept.
Ongoing Data Management
  • Maintain robust processes for continuous data validation and updates across parts databases and content systems.
  • Monitor and resolve data discrepancies in real time, ensuring alignment between ERP, catalog, and e‑commerce systems.
  • Ensure all product relationships remain accurate, including replacements, alternates, and component groupings.
  • Revise customer‑facing attachments and information to support correct and current product details.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and IT to ensure data accuracy across all platforms.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of data changes, rules, and governance standards.
Process Improvement & Governance
  • Design and document scalable data governance workflows to support long‑term data integrity.
  • Recommend system enhancements to improve product data handling, visibility, and consistency.
  • Train cross‑functional teams on data entry standards, document management, and best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance catalog searchability, product accuracy, and the customer digital experience.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Education in Data Science, Statistics, or Business Analytics.
  • Understanding of aftermarket parts structure, catalog data, cross‑referencing, and product identification.
  • Experience with ERP systems and product data management environments.
  • Demonstrated background in data cleansing, auditing, transformation, and classification.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct data inconsistencies.
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of data quality objectives.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of OEM Aftermarket Parts products, cataloging practices, and historical data structures.
  • Experience with parts cataloging, inventory management, BOM structures, or manufacturing documentation.
  • Familiarity with e‑commerce or digital product content management systems.
  • Experience with data governance, process improvement, or LEAN methodologies
  • Proficiency with data management tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel Advanced functions, data cleansing utilities) and ERP reporting functionality.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large data sets and complex information structures.
  • Problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills in data‑related workflows.
  • Ability to develop, document, and enforce data standards and governance rules.
  • Strong aptitude for identifying patterns, anomalies, and process inefficiencies within large data repositories.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate technical concepts clearly
