Building a World-Class, Diverse and Inclusive Technology Team at TD. TD Regulatory, Audit & Compliance Assurance supports all Platform & Technology related Regulatory and support interactions, including 2nd or 3rd Line of Defense examinations. This team provides oversight and governance, challenges high/medium severity issues tied to Regulatory, Audit, and ORM, and supports demand management and assurance functions.

Job Specific Accountabilities

The Business Management Specialist - Data & Analytics role supports the Platforms & Technology Global Security & Defense division in Canada or the United States. The role leverages audit and regulatory findings data to drive advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision-making to enhance risk management and compliance. It strengthens the risk management framework, ensures findings are analyzed rigorously, and enables leaders to make data-driven decisions to improve compliance, control effectiveness, and remediation sustainability.

Key activities include:

  • Data Strategy & Leadership: Partner with the Data Manager to define and execute the Assurance Governance Oversight data strategy; lead the design and implementation of advanced analytics solutions; mentor junior data scientists and analysts.
  • Data Science & Risk Analytics: Design, build, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns, risk concentrations, and trends in audit and regulatory findings; develop predictive analytics to forecast emerging risks; establish quantitative methods for severity scoring and prioritization.
  • Audit & Regulatory Data Analysis: Analyze large volumes of findings and remediation data to generate actionable insights for risk committees, regulatory forums, and executive leadership.
  • Perform root cause analysis across findings to identify systemic issues and control design weaknesses.
  • Support sustainability assessments of remediated findings through data-driven testing and metrics.
  • Develop and deploy statistical, machine learning, and AI models to solve complex business problems and modernization initiatives.
  • Perform exploratory and predictive analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure model interpretability, governance, and alignment with ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Risk Reporting & Governance: Develop dashboards, scorecards, and executive-level reporting that translate complex findings data into meaningful risk intelligence.
  • Collaborate with GRC teams across the 3 lines of defense to strengthen reporting for regulators, auditors, and internal oversight bodies.
  • Ensure analytics and reporting adhere to regulatory expectations and risk governance standards (e.g., NIST/ISO).
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis and deliver insights through executive-ready dashboards, reports and presentations.
  • Create complex BI reporting packages and dashboards using data infrastructure, datamarts, and external data sources.
  • Transform complex findings into actionable recommendations that drive measurable outcomes; build and maintain KPIs and metrics monitoring performance, risk, and operational health.
  • Data Management & Innovation: Collaborate to optimize data pipelines, metadata management, and data quality for findings repositories; automate recurring analysis and reporting processes; introduce AI/ML techniques (e.g., NLP for findings categorization, clustering for thematic risks) to modernize insights delivery; leverage tools (Python, SQL, Power BI, AI tools) for scalable data analysis; contribute to automation and innovation in data processing, analytics, and visualization.
  • Technical Skills & Governance Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Python, R, SQL; experience with big data and cloud platforms (Spark, AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with ML, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling; expertise in data visualization with Power BI/Tableau; knowledge of audit methodologies and regulatory frameworks; familiarity with Confluence and Atlassian tools; understanding of AI-driven solutions; knowledge of GRC platforms; risk taxonomy familiarity; ability to work autonomously as a senior/lead and mentor others; stay current with AI/ML trends.
  • Educational/Certifications: Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate; 7+ years data science/analytics experience; CRISC/CISA/CISSP certifications or equivalent as a plus; information security/technology risk background; Big Four experience a plus; AI/ML tools knowledge.
