Job Description
As a Customer Service Representative, you will provide sales support to customers via telephone, email, and walk-ins to our Profit Centres. You will deliver the highest level of customer service by answering inquiries, generating sales leads, and closing sales to increase profit sharing. Support will also be provided to the Outside Sales function.
Additional duties will include:
- Answering calls, emails, and in-person questions from customers and identifying their needs
- Researching products for customers and providing recommendations from our assortment
- Entering sales orders from Profit Centre customers via fax, phone, email, and text
- Growing and retaining the existing customer base and developing new business
- Following up on backorders with vendors and providing accurate delivery dates
- Sending and following up on requests for quotes to vendors
- Processing returns and warranty claims for both account and cash sales, including paperwork compliance
- Supporting Counter Sales and Outside Sales activities as part of the team
- Resolving order issues in accordance with policies and procedures (SPIs)
- Performing other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset
- At least 1 year of customer service or counter sales experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for communication, data analysis, and updating contact files
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Excellent relationship-building skills with customers, vendors, and team members
- Ability to identify customer needs, offer profitable solutions, and close sales
- Ability to learn and operate relevant order processing software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
- Intermediate math skills
- A willingness to learn how to operate material handling equipment
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience or knowledge of products sold at the Profit Centre
- Experience with Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
