Job summary

A regional health center in North Bay seeks to hire a dedicated individual for the role of Supply Distribution Associate. Responsibilities include the timely distribution of medical supplies and equipment while managing inventory requirements. Candidates must be Grade 12 graduates with knowledge of medical supplies, data entry skills, and a valid driver's license. Qualifications

Job description

Pay rate, benefits and other terms and conditions are as per the CUPE Local 139 Collective Agreement

To provide efficient, timely distribution of medical/surgical supplies, equipment, environmental supplies, stationary deliveries, lab specimens and pharmaceuticals to patient and non-patient areas at all sites. Manage and replenish unit requirements accurately following established quotas.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical/surgical supplies required
  • Experience in use of an Automated Inventory Management System required
  • Data Entry - 10 Key (6000 keystrokes/hour, 95% accuracy) required
  • Knowledge and experience with computers (e.g. Meditech, MS Outlook) required
  • Valid Drivers’ license required
  • Ministry of Transportation driver’s abstract required
  • Experience in use of handheld terminals is an asset
Skills/Abilities
  • Must be physically fit and able to safely push/pull supply carts (up to 50 kg)
  • Able to frequently lift and reach (up to 22 kg)
  • Able to occasionally handle equipment exceeding 50 kg with assistance
  • Knowledge of good body mechanics and their application required
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills required
  • Must be available for scheduled shifts and call-ins
  • Good attendance and work record required
  • Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
  • Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
  • Bilingualism is an asset
