Job description

The City of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative and energetic Guitar and Ukulele instructor(s) to teach private beginner/intermediate lessons for children and adults. Instructors are responsible for the planning and delivery of quality instructional lessons. This position starts in January 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and facilitate art/music classes for children and adults.
  • Instructing, motivating, and inspiring students in their pursuit of artistic excellence.
  • Engaging the learners in differentiated learning experiences according to the range of skill levels.
  • Plan and deliver enjoyable, structured activities.
  • Perform housekeeping task and put away equipment.
Qualifications
  • Experience teaching
  • Ability to instruct beginner and intermediate musical skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and can take initiative with little supervision
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Creative and energetic teaching style where the students are engaged and active.
  • Formal training in guitar/ukulele
  • Post secondary education in music is an asset
  • Applicants must be willing to work 2-4 hour shifts in Ladner, Tsawwassen, and North Delta in evenings and/or weekends.
