As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will help to maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running. This includes monitoring, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and security standards, along with developing operational procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Critical Environment Culture: Ensure safety and security compliance, participate in safety meetings, and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Equipment and Systems Maintenance: Escort third-party contractors, troubleshoot equipment, develop and document procedures, perform maintenance, and support testing and commissioning.
  • Equipment and Systems Operations: Respond to abnormal conditions, operate systems safely, monitor equipment, and escalate issues as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Climbing ladders and stairs, prolonged standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, visual and color acuity.
Working Conditions
  • Work in noisy, hot, and well-lit environments; up to 25% travel.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to pass security screenings including Microsoft Cloud Background Check and Reliability Status.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in mission-critical environments or relevant technical education and experience.
