Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in an accounting environment, preferably in Credit & Collection.
  • Good working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS).
  • Experience with accounting software is preferred.

Job Overview

The Financial Analyst – Credit & Collections will work as part of the Accounts Receivable team, overseen by the Manager of Credit & Collections, and will be responsible for managing the credit and collections process for specific customers / geographical portfolio. This will require assessment of creditworthiness of potential customers, credit reviews of existing customers, collections of past due balances and escalation of difficult customers’ accounts to ensure minimization of risk of credit loss.

What the job is all about
  • Email and posting of invoices on a daily basis
  • Preparing and arranging bank deposits
  • Preparation of new customer credit files & reviewing existing customer credit limits.
  • Monitor account credit limits, holds and aging of receivables, communicate to the necessary parties when an account is over its limit.
  • Perform collection procedures on all invoices past due. Identify problem accounts - make prompt decisions for collection.
  • Weekly and Month end reporting
  • Work with Export Development Canada insuring new clients
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Who you are
  • Post secondary education in Business Administration
  • 3-5 years experience in an accounting environment preferably Credit & Collection
  • Good working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS)
  • Experience working with various accounting software (LN an asset)
  • General understanding of ERP order entry process
  • Advanced skill level with MS Office and Excel
  • Solid level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to explain financial concepts and to interact with credibility with peers and management within the organization.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and adherence to financial regulations are critical for success in this role.
  • Experience working with a High Tech, Software Products or Manufacturing organization would be an asset
