Who We Are Looking For

Boughton Law is currently recruiting for a junior or intermediate Corporate Services Clerk. Reporting to the Corporate Services Supervisor the Corporate Services Clerk assists in the preparation and handling of annual maintenance documents and other corporate duties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Open and distribute incoming mail within the Corporate Services Department
  • Prepare annual maintenance documents (annual reports / returns annual consent resolutions) for British Columbia companies and Federal corporations
  • Sort returned annual reports / returns and collation of same for filing at corporate registry
  • Attend to corporate registry filings including annual reports changes of directors and changes of registered / records office addresses
  • Draft standard letters and documents and routine e-mail correspondence concerning annual maintenance using application software (Word Outlook and ALF)
  • Maintaining bring forward system
  • Prepare invoices and post time using Acumin accounting software
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of Corporate Records experience
  • Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant Program and / or legal experience in a similar position
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent English oral and written skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to draft standard correspondence with minimum supervision
  • Experience with Corporate Database (ALF) an asset
  • Experience with BC Online
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients lawyers and staff
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with billing / invoicing processes in a legal environment would be an asset
