Your opportunity

The Intramural and Tri-Campus Sports program at the University of Toronto is one of the largest in Canada, providing competitive and recreational sport opportunities in league, tournament and event structures to over 13,000 participants per year across all three campuses.

Under the general direction of the Manager, Tri-Campus Sports, the incumbent plays a significant role in providing support for the Intramural program. Working in a team environment, the incumbent delivers accurate, effective and efficient customer service while projecting a welcoming positive and professional image. The Coordinator provides support and assistance in the coordination and implementation of Tri-Campus Sports programs.

Responsibilities
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Developing, communicating, and updating all league and tournament schedules
  • Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
  • Working with department staff, student staff, and divisional representatives to resolve program operational-related matters
  • Directing the activities of a team of work-study students and assists in staff training, event management, and program communications
  • Organizing, summarizing and circulating program and/or course evaluations
  • Supports the administration of the Tri-Campus Sports programs, including preparation of casual staff contracts, collections and forwards payroll information for processing program registration and payment
  • Coordinating meeting and logistical support
Essential Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Physical Education or Sport Administration or the equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Minimum two years' relevant experience working in sport administration
  • Experience scheduling leagues and/or tournaments is required
  • Experience with recreation program delivery and familiarity with the policies, procedures and operations of post-secondary recreation and athletic programs
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving/conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral/written communication with a high attention to detail
  • Strong organizational & editorial skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality work in an environment of overlapping, time sensitive tasks
  • Ability to function in a position driven by competing demands and frequent interruptions
  • Strong ability to create and adjust schedules across a variety of sports and facilities
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, database management and online registration systems
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people

Pay Scale: USW Pay Band 09 -- $67,916 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,855. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
