We’re looking for a Controller who is energized by building scalable, AI-enabled financial operations and excited to lead financial reporting, compliance, and automation initiatives that support Vendasta’s next phase of growth. In this role, you’ll play a key part in helping small and medium-sized businesses succeed—while shaping the future of AI for local economies.

Your Impact

As a Controller, you'll work with the CFO, Finance team, FP&A, RevOps, Compliance, and cross-functional leaders to:

• Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll, Treasury, and Financial Operations, ensuring scalable structures that support business growth and automation readiness.
• Drive enterprise financial systems implementations, upgrades, and integrations (including NetSuite), embedding AI-enabled workflows, automation, and predictive capabilities across financial processes.
• Issue timely and complete consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, maintaining efficient close timelines (month-end within 6 business days; quarter-end within 6), while enhancing forecasting and variance detection through AI-supported scenario planning.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax regulations, lead annual audits, maintain audit readiness, and design internal controls that leverage automation and AI to detect anomalies and protect data integrity.
• Support strategic M&A initiatives through AI-assisted financial modeling, due diligence analysis, and post-acquisition integration planning.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training and enabling the Finance team to adopt AI tools for reconciliation, reporting, compliance tracking, and workflow optimization.

What You Bring to the Table

• 10+ years of progressively responsible financial experience within a major company or division, ideally with global exposure in the technology sector.
• Minimum of 5 years leading and developing a finance team of 6+ members, including coaching others to adopt new tools and processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent business experience.
• CPA designation (required).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience issuing consolidated financial statements.
• Demonstrated experience scaling finance operations through automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• Expertise in enterprise-grade financial platforms (e.g., NetSuite), including systems implementation, optimization, and integrations.
• Experience leading audits, maintaining audit readiness, and designing effective internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of mergers & acquisitions, financial modeling, and integration processes.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Experience implementing AI modules within enterprise financial systems.
• Demonstrated leadership in AI enablement within Finance, including building prompt libraries, evaluating AI finance tools, and leading internal training.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools for forecasting, variance detection, compliance tracking, and workflow automation.
