We have a number of projects in Alberta that require a Construction Contract Administrator to be part of our award-winning team.

As a Construction Contract Administrator, you will work as part of an integrated and multidiscipline team that is delivering complex projects in Alberta. You are responsible for coordinating and administering the contract award and subsequent contract administration activities relating to complex and fast paced projects.

Responsibilities
  • Interpreting contracts and ensuring compliance with contract terms
  • Monitoring and verifying construction progress on site
  • Liaising with clients, project managers, sub consultants, and Architects to move construction deliverables forward.
  • Preparing and processing change documents.
  • Reviewing shop drawings and other contractor submittals
  • Review, tracking and coordination of responses to contractor RFIs and submittals
  • Coordinating Change directives/ Contemplated change notices / Change orders
  • Assessing and making recommendations for Contract amendments
  • Reviewing contractor Progress payment application and preparing payment certificates
  • Evaluating contractors\' submissions for changes and claims
  • Chairing construction meetings and preparing meeting summaries
  • Preparing various reports and other correspondence relating to areas of responsibility
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • A strong knowledge of procurement and contracting principles, methods, procedures, and practices including contract administration relating to changes, claims and delays
  • A basic knowledge of relevant engineering, pertinent legislation, standards, and scheduling practices/methods
  • Sound judgment, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational, administrative, and decision-making skills required to effectively handle changing priorities and project deadlines
  • Ability to co-ordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
  • A good working knowledge of personal computers, mobile devices and applications relevant to the work (Newforma Project Centre, word processing, spreadsheets)
Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an Architectural Technology program or minimum 5-7 years of architectural contract administration experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience managing the delivery of architectural projects preferred.
  • (CCCA) Certified Construction Contract Administrator would be an asset.

About the Team

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
