About the Role

The Construction Superintendent plays a pivotal role in the successful delivery of mid- to large-scale institutional and commercial builds—from early site preparation to commissioning and close‑out. This position requires a hands‑on leader who can set the tone for safety, quality, and efficiency on site, while fostering a collaborative, people‑first environment.

As the site lead, you will organize, coordinate, and drive daily field execution, ensuring all work aligns with design intent, schedule, and client expectations. You’ll act as a mentor to field staff and subcontractors, ensuring the entire team performs safely, efficiently, and with craftsmanship that makes a lasting impression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead site activities through all project phases—mobilization, construction, and close‑out—ensuring safety, schedule, and quality targets are achieved.
  • Direct site crews and subcontractors, coordinate resources, and maintain accurate daily documentation.
  • Monitor progress and proactively identify potential delays, implementing solutions to minimize impact.
  • Champion Lean principles and continuous improvement practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings to maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Prepare lookahead schedules, track materials and manpower needs, and manage onsite logistics.
  • Collaborate closely with the project management team to align field execution with budget, scope, and design.
  • Mentor and support developing site personnel, contributing to a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Represent the company professionally at site and client meetings, reinforcing values of respect, collaboration, and craftsmanship.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 7–10 years of experience leading commercial or institutional construction projects as a Superintendent or Site Supervisor.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, building systems, and sequencing.
  • Proven experience with public-sector projects such as schools, community centers, or healthcare facilities.
  • Deep knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities—able to motivate teams and resolve challenges in real time.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and as‑built documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and scheduling tools (MS Project experience preferred).
  • Journeyperson Carpentry ticket (Red Seal certification ideal).
  • NCSO designation or equivalent safety training is an asset.
  • Ability to work on out-of-town projects as required; valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
