Job Title: Construction Manager/Superintendent - Substations

Our client's Program and Contract Management team is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of Substation Programs focused on Leak Repairs and Bushing Replacements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage resources—materials, finances, and personnel—using strong technical skills in construction methods, estimating, and contract management to deliver quality projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Prioritize safety by enforcing safe work practices, performing and providing feedback on Safe Work Observations, and adhering to safety standards and regulations to enhance safety performance.
  • Develop mitigation strategies by identifying, analyzing, and monitoring risks related to safety, environment, reputation, and indigenous relations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively through excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills to ensure successful project planning and execution.
  • Address construction inquiries from internal teams and third parties, maintaining positive, collaborative relationships through sound knowledge of project management, engineering, and company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience as a construction manager.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficient in project management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing multiple programs or projects simultaneously.
  • Electrical substation experience is required.
  • Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and practices related to construction management.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety standards and regulations such as OSHA and WorkSafe.
  • Advanced English skills, both written and spoken.

This position requires attendance at client workplaces and adherence to their Contractor Vaccination Policy, which mandates full vaccination by January 10, 2022, or prior to the start date, whichever is later.

Contract Duration: Initial contract from December 2021 to April 2023, with potential extension based on workload and performance.
