Position Overview

The Community Specialist – Leasing is responsible for creating an exceptional leasing experience for prospective and current residents. This role combines sales, customer service, and administrative duties to support occupancy goals, resident satisfaction, and community success. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and motivated to deliver an outstanding first impression of the community.

Primary Responsibilities
Leasing & Sales
  • Greet, tour, and build rapport with prospective residents; identify their needs and present suitable apartment homes.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of community features, amenities, and surrounding neighborhood.
  • Accurately complete all leasing paperwork and online application processes.
  • Follow up with prospects via phone, email, and text to convert leads to leases.
  • Meet or exceed leasing and occupancy goals as set by management.
Customer Service & Resident Relations
  • Provide high-quality customer service to both prospective and current residents.
  • Support the renewal process by communicating lease terms, incentives, and community updates.
  • Respond to resident concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Help plan and participate in resident events to strengthen community engagement.
Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate leasing, traffic, and resident information in property management systems.
  • Assist with daily office operations, including answering phones, filing, and correspondence.
  • Prepare and distribute leasing and marketing materials as needed.
  • Support the Client Care Manager in ensuring compliance with company policies and fair housing laws.
Marketing & Outreach
  • Contribute to the community’s online presence through social media engagement and marketing campaigns.
  • Participate in local outreach and networking to drive traffic and awareness.
  • Track market trends and competitor activities to assist in pricing and promotional strategies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in leasing, customer service, or sales (multifamily housing preferred).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., Yardi, Entrata, RealPage).
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and leasing best practices.
  • Availability to work weekends or evenings as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including walking to and from properties.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Proficiency in using standard office equipment, including computers and phones.
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate various property terrains.
