Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide community-based services. Responsibilities include offering consultation to caregivers and educating clients and staff on rehabilitation. Candidates should have a degree in Occupational Therapy, current licensure in BC, and at least two years of post-graduate experience. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this role. A Class 5 driver's license is required for daily travel.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current licensure in a practicing category as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum two years' post-graduate experience in Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Under the general administrative direction of the Manager, this position provides community based Occupational Therapy services to referred clients; provides consultation for caregivers; and educates clients, caregivers, staff and the community on rehabilitation interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience

Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). Minimum two (2) years' post graduate experience in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Community experience preferred.
