Job Information

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Health Nurse to deliver comprehensive health services in a northern community. This role supports individuals and families through health promotion, disease prevention, and direct nursing care, in alignment with GNWT Community Health Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Community Health Programs — Provide clinics and services such as well-child, prenatal/postnatal, school health, chronic disease management, immunizations, and communicable disease surveillance.
  • Provide Direct Nursing Care — Assess, plan, and implement holistic care; coordinate client transfers; maintain accurate records; and advocate for client dignity and autonomy.
  • Health Education & Promotion — Educate clients and families on health conditions, self-care, and wellness using a culturally sensitive and holistic approach.
  • Professional Collaboration & Advocacy — Mentor peers, participate in interagency meetings and research projects, and promote safe, ethical nursing environments.
  • The successful completion of a Nursing Degree
  • AND two (2) years of recent nursing experience in an emergency or critical care setting.

Northern or Outpost Nursing would be an asset.
