Job Summary

The Community Event Coordinator reports to the Leadership team and works in partnership with the development office. The role is responsible for developing and nurturing impactful community events throughout the school year.

Job Specifications
  • Start Date: Immediately to June 2026
  • part-time position for 10-12 hours per week for the school year
  • flexible work schedule, including the opportunity to work remotely for some of the hours
  • hourly rate: $34.50 – 45.00/hr. depending on experience & qualifications
Responsibilities
  • Embrace and promote the mission, vision, and core values of MRCS
  • Collaborate with the leadership team and the Director of Donor Relations to:
    • Manage and motivate a team of volunteers to engage in community school activities/events
    • Oversee integration of new families, including communications and new parent orientation
    • Support engagement of MRCS families within the school through various events such as: Welcome Back, concerts, Grand-friends Day, year-end celebration, etc. [full list of events available upon request]
    • Support engagement of staff appreciation in coordination with the Vice Principal of Community & Culture
Qualifications
  • A college diploma or degree with an emphasis on communications, event planning, marketing, public relations or business administration
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven high levels of integrity and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to prioritize and work under pressure with minimal guidance
  • Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications
  • Graphic design skills would be an asset
  • Work experience in an educational or non-profit organization
  • Growing as a leader who is Christ-like in character, full of faith, and has a growing relationship with Jesus
  • Must be willing to adhere to and sign the Maple Ridge Christian School Community Standards Agreement
