A healthcare provider in Claresholm is seeking a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I to perform diagnostic imaging and laboratory procedures. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the x-ray and laboratory, utilizing your critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities. Here you will facilitate change positively by encouraging others and accepting change within the workplace and building positive, respectful and collaborative working relationships. In this role you will have the opportunity to work both day and evening shifts, during the week and on weekends as well as on-call, as assigned.
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Current BCLS-HCP certification required. Proven ability to work within a computer-based environment using Microsoft office suite including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
Minimum 1 year experience as a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist within a rural hospital facility is an asset. Connect Care Epic training and experience.
