Job summary

A construction services company based in the Edmonton area is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Operator. Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC milling equipment, troubleshooting machining issues, and maintaining a clean workspace. The ideal candidate will have CNC milling experience, G-code editing proficiency, and strong collaboration skills. This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $43.01, and travel may be required within the Edmonton area.

DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and operate CNC milling equipment (VMC/HMC experience an asset)
  • Read prints, understand tolerances, and perform in-process checks
  • Troubleshoot machining issues (tool wear, chatter, finish, tolerance drift)
  • Manage tooling/offsets and support process improvements
  • Read, edit, and debug G-code at the machine to ensure safe, stable production
  • Keep a clean, safe, organized workspace and support team workflow
SKILLS & TRADE QUALIFICAITONS
  • CNC milling experience with setups and offsets
  • Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills
  • G-code required: ability to read/interpret and make controlled edits/debug fixes
  • Reliable, coachable, and collaborative
  • Self Starter and confidence in working in a fast paced shop
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
SKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED AN ASSETS
  • CAM exposure (Mastercam or similar)
  • Familiarity with Fanuc-style controls (or comparable)
Position Information
  • Located in the Edmonton Area
  • $43.01 (JM Hourly Rate - Note: Apprentice Rate are as follows = 4th year is 90% of JM - 80% is 3rd year, 70% is 2nd year and 60% is 1st year)
  • 5/2 Rotation Schedule
  • Must have valid driver's license & own reliable transportation
  • Travel may be required in the Edmonton Area
