THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Systems Consultant to join the dynamic Stratus Managed Cloud team at Pronto Solutions Alliance Inc. (PSA). With a global presence, this role will be located in Toronto, Ontario, and acting in a remote capacity, with visits to the data center as needed for both scheduled maintenance and emergencies.

This role serves as a critical link between the strategic vision of the Cloud Systems Architect and the practical implementation expertise of the Cloud Systems Consultant, making it central to the success of our cloud operations.

As a Cloud Systems Consultant, you will provide advanced technical support, oversee infrastructure management, and lead implementation efforts that drive seamless, innovative solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure Management
  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms.
  • Perform server patching and updates for Windows and Linux systems to ensure security and stability.
  • Implement and support VPN and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions for secure access.
  • Oversee backups and disaster recovery processes, ensuring reliability using tools like Cohesity and Zerto.
  • Conduct infrastructure validation, ensuring environments meet operational standards, including monitoring, VMware resource usage, and directory services.
Implementation and Client Support
  • Deploy and configure client environments, including infrastructure for Pronto Xi ERP and related solutions.
  • Perform data transfers for ERP systems (Informix) and Windows platforms (SQL, file systems).
  • Lead client implementations, migrations, and upgrades, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ensure all tasks, configurations, and processes are thoroughly documented for seamless handoffs and future reference.
  • Follow up proactively on assigned tasks and escalations, keeping stakeholders informed and projects on track.
Advanced Troubleshooting and Support
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex technical issues, working to minimize dependencies on senior staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in VMware, containerized environments, directory services (DS389), and monitoring systems (Zabbix).
  • Provide Level 1 on-call support via PagerDuty, ensuring timely resolution of critical incidents.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, environment configurations, and project follow-ups.
  • Ensure systems comply with SOC 2 and organizational security standards, supporting audits and implementing best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux systems administration, including patching and updates.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of database management (e.g., Informix, SQL Server) and ERP environments (Pronto Xi).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools and processes, including backups (Cohesity) and DR (Zerto).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in networking, servers, and cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of monitoring systems (Zabbix) and directory services (DS389, Keycloak).
  • Cybersecurity experience (CrowdStrike) is a desired skillset.
  • Experience with VPN and SSO implementations.
  • Hands-on experience in data center environments, including server racking, cabling, and basic networking configuration and troubleshooting.
KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Hands-on experience with Puppet or similar configuration management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools for deployments and updates.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards like SOC 2.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
