Job Summary
Responsible for executing a warm and efficient restaurant welcome. Supporting the restaurant managers with all guest bookings and guest correspondence prior to the booking. Use relevant resources to assist Restaurant Manager with organisation of table allocation and billing at end of shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a passionate and caring arrival for all guests in the Restaurant
- Ensure that the Restaurant/ Host team are providing a quality service to our guests, maintaining the Rudding Park philosophy on guest care.
- Set up and implement policies and procedures necessary for the smooth running of the Restaurant Host team and ensure these are followed at all times.
- Ensure effective communication of all relevant information to the department and the hotel as a whole
- Ensure the Host/ Restaurant team liaises with the Reservations, Reception and Guest Relations teams on a daily basis regarding any relevant guest information/issues
- Support Restaurant Managers with receiving positive/ negative guest feedback
- Resolving guest complaints where possible and reporting to the Restaurant Managers.
- To ensure that all health and safety procedures are adhered to and these procedures are followed, to ensure a safe working environment to prevent accidents and hazards. Accidents and near misses must be recorded and reported immediately.
- Effectively reporting and distributing daily Restaurant figures, shift reports and data.
- Ensure delivery of adequate team briefs and preparation meetings to assist with smooth running of the operation.
- Ensure that all relevant Restaurant paperwork is completed in full and stored appropriately.
- To be fully conversant with the current and upcoming Restaurant and room offers and be able to effectively communicate these to our guests.
- Ensure correct cashing up procedures are followed at all times.
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure each service is planned.
Working Relationships/Communication
- To interact and communicate effectively with all team members of the Restaurant and all members of the hotel team.
- To inspire and develop a 'can do' attitude with multi-disciplined staff.
- To make sure any positive and/or negative guest feedback is communicated to the manager as quickly as possible.
General
- Be responsible for Health and Safety as an individual and also to work colleagues, customers and the business, reporting concerns through the Health and Safety processes and procedures.
- Ensure continuous professional development of self, including attending required training courses and seeking means of developing within the business
- Promote continuous improvement in the level of quality and customer care provided by the business and make proposals/suggestions where applicable
