Position Summary

Are you a registered Clinical Pharmacist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Primary Care department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health and reporting to the Pharmacy Operations Lead, Primary and Long-Term Care, this position provides clinical pharmacy services to patients of the primary care network. As a member of an interprofessional team, this position works directly with patients to identify and resolve actual and potential drug therapy problems through comprehensive medication management.

Position covers South Peace Primary Care Network, which includes communities of Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge. Hours of work may vary based on site and operational needs.

Shift Rotation / Hours of work: Days - 08:30 to 16:30, Rotating

Dawson Creek & District Hospital is a full-service community hospital serving Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for BC's Northeast Region. Services include:

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia and at least 2 years recent, relevant patient care experience, ideally in a team-based primary care setting or equivalent.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to perform patient assessments and clinical reasoning with appropriate interventions.
  • Ability to teach patients and groups effectively.
  • Use of current research and best practices to inform decisions.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills, proficiency with electronic health records, and related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties.
