POSITION: Cleaner

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Equipment Maintenance

DEPARTMENT: Rail Mechanical

LOCATION: Cochrane

REFERENCE: 300-178-26

SALARY: $24.08 - $26.75/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement. Full rate effective after 1 year of service)

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Cleaner will provide ongoing cleaning/labour services to the division in a safe and efficient manner.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cleaning/washing of railway equipment, coaches, parts and shop facilities
  • Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
  • Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Current shift schedule is: Tuesday - Friday 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. & Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Secondary School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Previous cleaning and/or labour experience
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work various shifts (including weekends and over night) and some work outdoors in adverse weather (24-hour operation)
  • Must be committed to Company Health and Safety
