Overview

Type of position: Regular

Your future role on our team BBA is looking for a Civil Engineer-In-Training to join our growing team in Vancouver, BC. Your role will be to work with the team in Vancouver, BC along with our national and international teams on projects in the mining, industrial, renewable power, and carbon capture industries. You will get to work with many experts on challenging projects which will help excelerate your career growth.

  • Help prepare engineering documents for projects in the following sectors: industrial, mining and metals, renewable energy, and oil and gas
  • Design and prepare civil site plans, road design, site grading and earthworks, drainage and sanitary sewer systems from preliminary through to detailed engineering
  • Preparation of calculation packages
  • Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, geotechnical)
  • Prepare engineering quantity takeoffs, technical specifications, and technical reports
  • Participate in quality control of the work carried out by technicians and drafters
  • Contribute to estimates, schedules, and budgets
  • Participate in supervising site work
  • Carry out other technical duties to assist with projects
  • Maintain friendly, close relations with clients or their representatives

  • Annual base salary, based on 37.5 hours weekly, between $79,600-$97,400

BBA considers many factors to determine the annual base salary such as, but no limited to: location of the position, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant competencies.

Certification and job requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Registered as an E.I.T. with EGBC
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Experience and knowledge of 3D CAD software, GIS tools, hydraulic and hydrological modelling software
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of work site supervision
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
  • Creativity and innovation in finding solutions
  • Availability for occasional travel to client sites
