Qualifications

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Civil Engineering team. This permanent full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of civil engineering projects, including residential land development, municipal infrastructure, stormwater management, and transportation design.

Working under the supervision of senior engineers and the Civil Discipline Lead, the Civil EIT will support technical design, fieldwork, drafting, and project coordination from conceptual planning through construction. This role provides strong professional growth opportunities within a collaborative, multidisciplinary consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the engineering design of residential land development and municipal infrastructure projects.

  • Interpret and apply applicable codes, bylaws, and engineering standards to design tasks.

  • Prepare engineering studies, technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.

  • Provide drafting and design support using AutoCAD Civil 3D for roadworks, drainage systems, site services, grading plans, and related civil components.

  • Participate in fieldwork, including data collection, construction reviews, surveying support, and site condition assessments.

  • Attend team meetings and support coordination with internal disciplines and project stakeholders.

  • Assist with daily reporting, record-keeping, and documentation of project progress.

  • Support project execution by assisting team members and taking on additional responsibilities as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.

  • 1–2 years of relevant civil engineering experience in Canada.

  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capability to manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent) and access to a personal vehicle.
