Overview

Our client, Niagara Health (NH), is one of the largest multi-site health care systems in Ontario serving more than 450,000 residents within the Regional Municipality of Niagara. Anesthesiologists annually support 32,333 procedures, 6,508 Endoscopy cases, 3,506 deliveries, 771 ECT cases and 484 pacemaker insertions. With a one million square foot state-of-the-art hospital in St. Catharines, and a new 1.5 million square foot ultramodern hospital coming to South Niagara Falls in 2028, with 10 state of the art operating rooms, there will be a transformation of healthcare service delivery throughout the Niagara Region.

Strong academic partnerships are a priority for NH as the organization builds on a robust relationship with McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. NH is seeking an advocate of patient safety, quality and performance management, who will have the exciting mandate of further developing a top-tier team while expanding the NH’s Anesthesia service.

Join the NH Leadership team as Chief of Anesthesia.

The Chief will report to the Chief of Staff & Executive Vice President Medical Affairs, possess an FRCPC in Anesthesiology, be eligible to practice in Ontario, and have a proven track record of clinical leadership excellence.

Responsibilities and mandate

• Advocate for patient safety, quality and performance management; develop a top-tier anesthesia team; expand NH’s anesthesia service.
• Provide leadership to the anesthesia department and contribute to strategic planning and service transformation.
• Collaborate with NH leadership and academic partners to advance clinical education and research opportunities.
