Responsibilities
- Lead MHNL's Finance team, overseeing daily accounting operations and providing guidance on strategic financial decisions for MHNL's financial health.
- Serve as a business financial partner to the Senior Director, Integrated Emergency Health Services; oversee monthly financial reporting and manage the month-end reporting package and forecasts.
- Liaise with government stakeholders, external auditors and the Auditor General to clarify and explain financial results.
- Prepare and review the annual operating and capital budgets internally and externally for government stakeholders; coordinate consolidation of results across Medavie entities and reporting to the board.
- Collaborate with payroll, benefits, accounts payable/receivable, and procurement under a shared service model; review financial results and follow up on discrepancies or unexpected trends with related teams.
- Demonstrate leadership in managing a remote team, developing relationships remotely, and applying strong critical thinking, multi-tasking, and deadline management skills.
- Promote a collaborative, values-driven culture (caring, accountable, responsive, innovative, community-minded) and support the organization in achieving healthcare outcomes in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or Commerce; CPA designation.
- Minimum 8 years of direct work experience, with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
