Central Plant Watch Engineer

Position Summary

SHIFT: Tuesday - Saturday 3:00PM - 11:00PM

Supervise, monitor, and operate combined heat and power and chilled water systems and connected equipment to perform safely and efficiently; monitor and respond to changes in operating conditions to maintain continuous plant performance; perform preventive maintenance duties and routines. Supervise operations personnel.

Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, Refrigeration License, and Steam License

Required Experience: 10+ years overseeing and maintaining combined heating, power, and chilled water systems in a plant setting.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of combined heat and power and chilled water systems, equipment, and proper operating conditions.
  • Knowledge of maintenance routines and standards.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge/familiarity with computer applications such as email.
  • Proficient in English (reading directions and instructions in English).

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of University and department policies, processes, and quality standards.

Additional Information

The hourly rate for this position is USD $75.327, based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes incentives, bonuses, or other items.
