Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our reconstruction team. The Carpenter is responsible for completing framing, finishing, and custom woodwork as part of residential and commercial restoration projects. This role involves working closely with the Reconstruction Manager, Project Managers, and tradespeople to ensure projects are delivered with precision, efficiency, and the highest standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform carpentry tasks including framing, drywall installation/repair, finishing, cabinetry, trim, doors, and flooring.
  • Read and interpret drawings and work orders to carry out accurate construction and repairs.
  • Repair or replace structural and decorative woodwork in damaged properties.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
  • Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with building codes and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Reconstruction Manager and other team members to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment on all job sites.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, homeowners, and team members.
  • Assist with training apprentices or less experienced carpentry staff, when required.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 3+ years of carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction (restoration experience an asset).
  • Proficiency in framing, finishing, and general carpentry.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and construction documents.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices and ability to comply with all regulations.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
  • Valid driver’s license.
