A prestigious university in Canada is seeking a Career Education Coordinator to support students in career exploration and preparation. The role involves coaching, organizing workshops, and collaborating with internal teams to foster student success. Ideal candidates will have a university degree and relevant experience in career development, along with strong presentation and organizational skills.
Education:
Completion of a University degree or equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Minimum two years (2) years of recent relevant experience in human resources recruitment, experiential education, career development/coaching or in a professional search firm performing recruitment activities or experience working in a career center or internship/co-op setting. Experience with designing and facilitating career readiness workshops. Preference will be given to candidates that have prior experience in career coaching and in-depth knowledge of employer recruitment practices. This role requires the incumbent to have experience developing and maintaining effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders (i.e. including students, employers, alumni, staff and faculty).
Skills:
– Coaching, advising or mentoring experience. Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate knowledge of trends in employer hiring practices, current labour market conditions and student and career development theories. Certified Coach credential (accredited by the ICF- International Coaching Federation) preferred.
