Business Intelligence Analyst (x2) - 15 Month Contract in Regina, SK
Our client in Regina, SK is looking for two (2) Business Intelligence Analysts for an initial 15-month contract until March 31, 2027, with the option for multiple renewals.
This is an onsite role located at the Head Office in Regina, SK, with a Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm work schedule (40‑hour work week).
The successful candidate(s) must currently reside in the Regina area or be willing to relocate for the duration of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
As a pivotal role in the client's data‑driven organization, the Business Intelligence Analyst will transform data into actionable insights to support strategic objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Technology Solutions: Design and implement technology solutions that enable digital transformation.
- Data Management: Apply expertise in data management principles, business intelligence tools, and data architectural methodologies.
- SQL and Reporting: Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation, and create/maintain reporting and SQL scripts.
- BI Tool Application: Apply expertise in Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and other BI reporting environments to deliver tailored content and effective presentations.
- Stakeholder Guidance: Work closely with Business Units to guide them through the entire solutioning process, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring solutions meet business needs.
- Data Visualization: Oversee the reporting integration and visualization of data from legacy and on‑premises systems to new solutions.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential technical risks and devise strategies to mitigate them.
- Data Compliance: Adhere to industry security standards and ensure compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience within the last 15 years working with modern data management principles in a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
- Education / Equivalent Experience: A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering, Data Sciences, or a related discipline, OR a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
- Location: Ability to work and be located full‑time onsite at the Head Office in Regina, SK.
Required Technical Skills and Experience
- SQL Expertise: Ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation, and to create and maintain reporting and SQL scripts.
- BI Tools: Extensive experience with Power BI and other business intelligence reporting environments, including strong knowledge of Power Query and DAX.
- Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in Power BI Service, Microsoft Azure, and Databricks.
- Data Architecture: Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and Delta format, as well as Star Schema and analytical data models.
- Data & Content Management: Experience with content management and data management programs and governance.
- Compliance: Familiarity with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and industry security standards.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
