Join SECURE, where we step up to make a meaningful difference in the industries we serve and the world we share.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our Business Intelligence Analyst you will bring strong operational awareness, curiosity, and a proactive mindset to support the evolving analytical needs of the business. This role goes beyond building dashboards—it's about understanding how the business runs, asking the right questions, and translating field, financial, and operational realities into meaningful insights that drive decision-making.

Working closely with leaders and teams across Operations, Sales, Technical Services, Finance, and HS&E, this analyst develops practical, user-friendly reporting solutions while also serving as a thought partner who identifies trends, challenges, and opportunities across the business.

The Team

The Specialty Chemicals team operates in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment where data, operations, and field expertise come together to drive practical, informed decision-making. Teams value transparency, partnership, and a solutions-focused mindset, working collectively to ensure insights translate into real-world impact.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and operationally dynamic, requiring adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to engage directly with the realities of the field. This role thrives within a culture that emphasizes safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, where analytical discipline supports business performance and operational excellence.

A Day in The Life
  • Engage directly with operations and field teams to understand workflows, constraints, and real-world application of data.
  • Interpret operational trends and behaviors, offering recommendations that connect data to on-the-ground realities.
  • Facilitate conversations between technical and non-technical groups, ensuring alignment on definitions, processes, and priorities.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose practical, scalable improvements that balance data capabilities with operational needs.
  • Act as a problem-solver and resource for leaders by proactively surfacing insights, risks, or gaps in data quality and business processes.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting operational priorities and support teams during time-sensitive decision-making or incidents.
  • Build strong relationships across functions to ensure reporting is not only accurate, but relevant, actionable, and trusted by end users.
  • Support user adoption by clearly explaining insights, assumptions, limitations, and business impacts.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics and/or related operational experience, ideally in the Canadian energy sector.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Familiarity with operational and financial datasets commonly used in energy services.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data patterns to operational outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creative analytical thinking.
  • Naturally curious with a continuous improvement mindset; asks questions to understand “why,” not just “what.”
  • Ability to collaborate with field teams, engineers, accountants, and leaders.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, especially when working with technical or financial data.
  • Experience working in operational, field-based, energy services, manufacturing, or industrial environments (asset).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data for operators, managers, and executives.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, including the ability to consult, influence, and support stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity or shifting operational priorities.
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented attitude with the willingness to dig into problems hands-on.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and able to take ownership of insights and initiatives.

Some of the experience and knowledge requirements for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Power BI (DAX)
