Reports to: Director of Operations, Freds Hospitality

About Us: Freds Hospitality is a growing hospitality group committed to delivering memorable dining experiences across British Columbia. In West Vancouver, Café Crema and Freds Italian operate side-by-side in one landmark building, offering guests two distinct concepts: a vibrant café culture experience and a modern Italian dining destination.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee both operations, splitting time equally between the two venues. This role requires a dynamic, hands-on leader who can balance strategic oversight with daily operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations for both Café Crema and Freds Italian. Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Maintain brand standards, guest service excellence, and operational efficiency.
• Team Management & Culture: Recruit, train, and mentor staff across both venues. Foster a positive, performance-driven culture that emphasizes guest satisfaction and teamwork. Manage scheduling, labour targets, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Financial & Business Oversight: Monitor and achieve sales, labour, and cost targets. Work closely with operations and accounting to ensure budgets are met and reporting is accurate. Drive revenue growth through innovative programming, promotions, and community engagement.
• Guest Experience: Ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction across both brands. Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively. Uphold the reputation of both Café Crema and Freds Italian as West Vancouver dining staples.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all operations comply with VCH, WorkSafeBC, and liquor licensing regulations. Oversee health & safety programs and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a senior management role within hospitality (multi-unit or dual-concept experience strongly preferred).
• Strong background in food & beverage operations (restaurant and/or café).
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams.
• Solid financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
