As an Outside Sales Representative you will sell flexible packaging solutions (pouches and rollstock) to consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies across Canada and the U.S.

Primary focus: new business development, building new accounts while managing a small starter book. Report directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

Base salary: $75,000–$95,000 plus commission.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Base Salary: $75,000–$95,000 plus commission
  • OTE Year 1: $90,000–$105,000
  • OTE Year 2: $100,000–$110,000
  • Top Performer Potential: $180,000 after Year 2

Our client is a 35‑year‑old family‑owned packaging company with approximately 80,100 employees, headquartered in Brampton, Ontario. They provide flexible packaging (pouches and rollstock) for CPG companies across food, pet food, nutraceuticals and consumer goods. Current customers include mid‑market and large enterprises.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY
  • Head Office: Brampton, ON
  • Work‑from‑home after training (first 2 months in office)
  • Territory: Canada & U.S. (majority growth opportunities in the U.S.)
EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • 3–10 years of B2B outside sales experience (packaging, printing, food manufacturing, supply chain or industrial/technical sales preferred)
PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION

Flexible packaging (pouches, rollstock) for CPG companies (food, pet food, nutraceuticals, consumer goods).

SALES CYCLE & DEAL SIZE
  • Typical annual deal size: $200,000–$500,000
  • Average sales cycle: typically 6–12 months with multiple meetings
  • Requires ~6–8 consultative meetings with multiple stakeholders (Purchasing, Senior Leadership, Owners)
  • Year 1 sales target: $650,000 (stretch goal $1 M)
LEADS
  • Majority self‑generated via outbound prospecting and networking
  • Marketing and trade shows provide limited warm leads
  • Some campaign and BDR/inside sales support available but role is hunter‑driven
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Excel – Basic
  • PowerPoint – Basic
  • MS Word – Basic
  • CRM (Salesforce or equivalent) – Preferred
SUPPORT & TRAINING
  • Initial 6 weeks of in‑office cross‑department training
  • Job shadowing with senior reps
  • Ongoing structured sales coaching, joint calls and mentoring
  • Technical product training (12 weeks)
