The Business Development Analyst will support the Business Development Manager in organizing and executing sales initiatives to maximize volume and profitability and achieve annual budget objectives.

In this role, you will also be expected to assist the BDM in building long‑term customer relationships by understanding both customer requests and internal demands, and resolving them in a timely manner. Your responsibilities will include performing administrative tasks, managing forecasts and promotions, preparing reports, analyzing data, and identifying potential opportunities. You will participate in customer meetings and oversee the execution of various strategies established with the client.

  • Salary scale 004: $71,200 to $89,000 (Base salary will be determined based on education, experience, training, and job‑related competencies.)
What this role consists of:
  • Achieve annual sales and profit budgets
  • Build and maintain long‑term customer relationships by responding quickly to questions and complaints
  • Assist the BDM in planning and implementing effective sales strategies
  • Process and record accurate and detailed customer data; manage and maintain customer accounts
  • Manage monthly and annual forecasts
  • Contribute to developing account‑ or category‑specific business plans to meet marketing and sales objectives aligned with the company’s strategic direction
  • Work on research and development projects in the field of health and safety
  • Coordinate the execution of promotions and marketing programs
  • Be responsible for preparing and presenting monthly performance and investment reviews, identifying gaps versus forecasts, and making recommendations in the interest of both parties
  • Conduct research and contribute to identifying strategic opportunities that highlight competitive advantage by delivering added value to products and services
  • Continuously perform post‑mortem audits on program execution, promotions, and negotiation mandates, and make recommendations
  • Work within established budgets and continuously leverage opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of sales spending
  • Be responsible for creating and modifying commercial agreements, as well as their follow‑up
  • Be responsible for managing customer price lists (creation, modifications, and related issue resolution)
  • Liaise and work in partnership with all relevant groups (master data, sales, credit, finance, logistics, telesales, and customer service) to resolve issues promptly.
What you need to join our team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Ideally 2–3 years of experience in direct sales, business development, or category management (preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry)
  • Understanding of AC Nielsen reports, business principles, competitive trends, and P&L management is required
  • Strong proficiency in common software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bilingual oral and written (English and French) — frequent communication with partners, clients, and/or employees outside Québec.
