Job description
Overview

The HR ServiceNow Business Systems / Quality Analyst is a blended role responsible for analysis and testing activities on medium to large size projects with a focus on HR Service Delivery. The role demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability, and can apply the competency in new or complex situations and guides other professionals. The role is responsible for execution of all aspects of requirements delivery from the elicitation, analysis and documentation of requirements to the creation and execution of test cases to ensure requirements are met.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis Planning

  • Perform requirements analysis to identify impacted or influencing groups and stakeholder requirements
  • Apply advance elicitation techniques to develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates
  • Manage risks, assumptions and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties
  • Define the business analysis approach including tasks and deliverables based on the project and delivery methodology
  • Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business priorities
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review
  • Document scope of the business solution using enterprise-standard requirements methodology
  • Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives following the enterprise standards
  • Apply advanced coverage analysis techniques to ensure relationship between scope, detailed requirements, and testing through to implementation; communicate the impact of changes through cost-benefit analysis taking into consideration time, effort, and business priorities
  • Support the development of end-user analysis documentation and training to maintain consistency of standards and adherence to enterprise requirements methodology within the team

Quality Assurance :

  • Analyze project or requirement documents to identify test requirements and create test strategies
  • Develop functional system test cases and support test case documentation that has full coverage of the critical requirements
  • Coordinate and execute actual QA tests while tracking results and any end-to-end issues, and communicating status / outcome to stakeholders and / or project leaders
  • Support UAT and PIV activities including planning, defect triage, and root-cause analysis for requirements-related issues
  • Act as a QA representative on complex application development or maintenance projects
  • Participate in release meetings for maintenance and development projects ensuring all platform requirements are met
  • Use defined / new methodologies and software to test new technologies / system functionality of moderate to difficult complexity to ensure business acceptance, user acceptance and system integration
  • Collaborate with other areas within IT to identify and improve testing tools and approaches
  • Support the development of end-user QA documentation for internal training

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have :

  • Understanding of HR Business Processes
  • Understanding of ServiceNow ITIL modules- Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, HR Service Delivery
  • Proven experience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative and / or Agile
  • Experience with QA software tools for defect management, regression, performance and automated testing

Nice To Have :

  • Understanding of APIs and integrations
  • Familiar with transform maps and other data sources used to populate large data sets
