SUMMARY

The Technician III - 4th Class Power Engineer is responsible for operating the facility, including mechanical and supporting systems; performing inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, and routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical equipment and other systems. The technician also ensures work complies with established processes and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection standards.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshooting

  • Observe and report on the condition of facility systems, suggesting enhancements and repairs.

Maintenance

  • Perform work according to established procedures.
  • Comply with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime and asset integrity.
  • Respond to service requests and maintain systems.
  • Monitor facility systems through walkthroughs.
  • Operate mechanical and other systems.
  • Manage work orders from dispatch to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs, documenting deficiencies, and escalating issues.

Client Relations

  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through professional service delivery.

Administration

  • Participate in facility projects.
  • Ensure work complies with policies and regulations.
  • Maintain tools and submit expenditures timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma with trades training/certification or licensing.
  • At least 3 years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of facility operations and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and building systems.
  • Strong focus on environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Customer service orientation and high sense of urgency.
  • Understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Mentoring skills for supporting lower-level technicians.
  • Willingness to work shifts, be on-call, and respond to emergencies.
  • Adherence to health and safety policies, including PPE usage.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
