Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with drilling or completions truck driving.
  • Valid class 1 license and acceptable driver’s abstract.
  • Fall Protection, Confined Space, Aerial Platform certifications required.
  • Ability to safely climb and lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

Overview

Reporting to the Supervisor – Infrastructure, the Boom Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating the boom truck and cranes for loading, unloading, lifting and lowering of materials and equipment.

Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC.

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Safely operate boom truck and cranes for loading, unloading, lifting and lowering of materials and equipment.
  • Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.
  • Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as per company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain lifting gear in good working condition and report any deficiencies.
  • Complete pre-shift and post-shift inspections and lifting plans and report deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Hook up truck and trailer(s) as needed: deck off
  • Communicate effectively with team and supervisor via hand signals and radio communications.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and report hazards.
  • Complete job hazards assessments.
  • Operate other small equipment when needed.
Qualifications
  • Red seal – Boom Truck Operator
  • Minimum 5 years experience with drilling or completions truck driving
  • Valid class 1 license and acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Ability to operate other small equipment
  • Be prepared to actively participate in positive and safe working atmosphere
  • Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Fall Protection Certification
  • Confined Space Certification
  • Aerial Platform Work Certification
  • Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
